Yesterday morning, I tried to start the car but it just cranks without starting. Give it gas during that does not help. After trying it four times, it finally started. When it runs, everything is good. No rough running or any issue. Then it starts fine when I turn off the car and try to start it again. So what could be the most likely reason for the non starting issue? My battery was changed last Nov so I guess it is probably OK. I have basically all short city driving. Will the battery be very low because of that?

Sounds like the starter. Next time car won't start try tapping the starter with a hammer and then see if it starts. Autozone as well as advance can test the starter and battery for you.

If the starter was bad it wouldn't crank at all. Is the fuel pump priming?

When an engine cranks (aka turns over) but will not start, this means it is missing one of two things: spark or fuel. Typically fuel.

One electronic thing that can easily be checked to see if it's shutting off fuel is the maf sensor. Unplug that and try to start it. If you are successful a few times in a row, likely the maf needs to be cleaned or replaced.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
