thats a iat sensor, its in the filter tube, has a wire leading to it.

pull the plug off, then pull it straight up and out of the tube. you can try cleaning the old one. they get gummed up.

also check the wires to the ait. they get messed up, i had to change that pigtail as well as the maf pig tail on my car.

no problem. check the wires for missing insulation, once its gone the wires also die, they get whats called dry wire. then the wire dont pass current right.

question the issue was the pigtail someone had replaced the iat before im guessing the wires were rubbing against metal and rubbed through. i went to the junk yard just to get a new pigtail same some time and money but mine says ped 10 the one i got is ped 11 will it make a difference it came off a 3800 series motor

i used these guys for my pig tails, autowiringsolutions_aws | eBay if you dont see your pig tail, pm them, they will get right back to you, i also called and spoke to them.

i got a maf and ait pig tails for about 10 each. shipped to my door in less then a week too. i was quite happy with their service.
