I've made up my mind and am doing a full rebuild on the 96k mile l67 i have. Im done playing so its time .
you brought your car to have me tune it.. kill the battery... and minutes after getting the battery jumped you were making wot pulls in front of our hangout spot.... This was BEFORE I tuned it.
The only non water related rod bearing failures came from I believe to be a bogus transmission. Never was able to diagnose that car as it was sold before I could look at the trans, but it tossed 2 good motors real quick installed by a very good shop (not me). I tuned that car and it started knocking after a few high RPM sessions, maintained good oil pressure up to the point it made noise each time. I was in it when one rod knock started.
I am nearly convinced that it is the transmissions fault due to the same post rpm related failure mode, and entirely different good stock motors (1 stock cam, one VS cam) each time.
No.. oil pumps are fine. I have the factory oil pump in my buddies 430k mile bonne.I can't stress oil pump enough IMO I've just seen it to many times. Even with the infamous Honda vtec motors.

Sorry sir, no. It wasn't shifting right so why would i go wot lol. I got on it, but not even close to wot. And iirc you turned the key on way before you were ready to flash the pcm killing the battery. None of that matters though lol. How can a trans cause this problem?
Update: after 3 motors, I am currently on my fourth one lol. I have concluded that it was the intake gasket improperly installed that caused the spun bearings. Its the only thing in common with the three motors, the fourth I have not touched the internals. I don't think i put the intake gaskets on wrong but its the only thing that makes seance.
