NJ seems have slacked off on stuff. you got a 55/50 shot if you ask me. worst comes to worse, you buy some junk yard head lights and go back for a pass sticker.

all they seem to check now is obd2 scan, and drive over a camera to check for a cat, then test the gas cap. and off i went.

no lights, brakes, or suspension was looked at. not even the horn or wipers.

2 years ago i passed with bald tires the air bag light on and a cracked d/s mirror im mean shattered.

this past April i had to re inspect, all that other stuff was fixed, no cel on, but i now have tint on every window of my car now, and i passed. and my tail lights are lightly tinted.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Spray painted headlights? C'mon son. Don't be that guy your asking for a accident and or lawsuit waiting to happen. Don't tint your headlights.

From what I hear, Jersey is a stickler for emissions. So long as you're set there, you might get through.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

no more sniffer test here, obd2 scan, and gas cap test, and look for the cat, thats it pretty much here in NJ.

i just passed with tint on every window on my car, as per NJ law, no tint is legal on the front doors, or windshield.

I think you'll pass the inspection but probably not a safe thing to do with regards to the headlights. I have a 12" long crack on my windshield and passed without a problem.
A few years ago, they failed me because I had a screw in the very outer edge of the tire. I pulled it out and went right back on line and then they passed me. I heard that now a days, you can go through with a wrench on the steering column instead of the steering wheel and they would pass since they don't check for safety anymore. I haven't tried this myself but would love to see if it would actually pass.

last time i took my mothers car to inspection, it failed for her parking pass sticker on the windshield ( im talking a 1 inch square sticker)

its amazing what has happened here.
