Thread: how much does gas weigh?

i wanted to know how much gas really weighs? I know when i go out to the track again im definitely gonna try to keep as little amount of gas as possible in my tank!

Gas weighs approximately 6.15 lbs per gallon.

So that means that on a full load in a 17, 18 gallon GTP tank you are looking at about 104 - 110 pounds in fuel.

I always remember that water weight 8 lbs a gallon. And since gas is lighter than water, that would make sense.
