I think they are a sweet idea.

Have an electric cutout now, Would almost like to make a boost activated cutout.

What parts would be needed? i can just take the electric motor off the cutout.

if your electric you trying get it come open when you hit boost? if so i would just figure out a relay or something of this nature to activate it from a boost signal

I'm not sure if these are still available or not. A guy on clubgp used to have one on his turbo GP.

You might be able to make something work with using an m90 BBV.

If it were me. I would install the cut out and switch, then splice off switch to a relay controlled by an arduino
that is getting a boost signal from the car (through the obdii port or output on a body gauge). And basically when the boost signal hits x value flip relay. This would also provide the ability to turn off the feature if need be.

You could use a hobbs switch with the electric cutout, which there is a delay in opening and you have to stay in boost. Or you could sell the electric cutout and get a boost activated manual cutout and change springs in it to get the desired psi. You could install a switch or a valve in both to arm/disarm them.

Could wire the switch to a pedal activated one, open at WOT.

    This.

That would make it a true loud pedal.

    Hmmm all decant ideas lol.

The Ebay cutout kit i bought a while back only comes with the keychain remote for opening and closing -_- which i expected a physical switch inside the car .

Now that would be fun to mess with. The inner geek in me likes that :P Pull remote apart and tap into signal, or clone signal, use arduino to send signal when boost levels hit X or throttle % hits X or really any other condition.

Fosho has the idea that most all boost activated cutouts use.

But, hobbs switches fail and it is still a cutout and will still leak like them all.

The other advantage of a cutout is when its opened, the turbo will spool much quicker, having that electric opening delay/WOT switch or set the boost too high and you will lose that advantage.
