This may be a really stupid question so please excuse my noobishness. My HUD seems to read anywhere from 3-6mph below my spedo. The gap seems to expand the faster i'm going. Is this a common issue? Also i've noticed my oil life guage will reset itself every once and a while and when I turn my perf shift on the light comes up on the dash but not on the screen to my right. Sorry if these are stupid questions. We're all noobs once haha.

the factory speedo in the gauge cluster is usually off by ~+/-3mph in my experience.. They say the hud is the accurate one. And the trend seemed in my car also the faster you go the more off it gets.
Not sure on the oil life...

Wow well I would have figured the speedo would be the accurate one hah. If i'm correct the 99 GTP has an 18 gallon tank? I've also noticed my gas guage will read 1/4 tank but my screen to my right will say only 8 gallons of fuel used or something of that sort. It seems to be off. I'm just not sure if I should trust my digital guages.

17.5 I wanna say. I think 97 or just ONE of the years got 18... I could be wrong.

Not sure again on the DIC. It reads information from the pcm. Could just need resetting your fuel economy, fuel used, and oil life and just see if they balance out or something. I mean my oil life is never accurate, it ages too slowly. Fuel usage seems dead on and economy.

Close enough to 18 lol. I reset the fuel used and thats when I noticed it was off. I know the previous owner rebuilt the tranny and I've heard that the supercharger isn't the factory original. Could those effect that in any way?

well either way it goes your pcm and your trans should be matched to jive with one another so I don't see that being a problem however, I'm not the one to ask on that hopefully someone can chime in

BUT I don't see that being an issue. I think what you have is just a normal gp lol, may need a reset there with your DIC and see if it'll level out. just pay attention to it. I wouldn't say anything is wrong really.

Haha yeah I know it's nothing major. Just me being curious. I'll reset it all tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for your input!

I have a 97 and yes it has an 18 gal tank. My Hud is usually 2 - 3 mph below speedo. Dic will be a little off by .1 - .5 gallons used on fill-up.

My hud is perfect with my speedo, ya'll cars must be broken lol.

The HUD is faster at reading the MPH during a WOT run though, the speedo motor is a little behind there.

I love the use of the word ya'll lmao. All I have to say it they are 14 year old electronics, I shouldn't expect them to work perfectly.
