Looking into a project over the summer. Do turbos make more power on an l36 or an l67 with a supercharger block off plate? Or does it not make a huge difference?

on a side note is a 1997 bonneville as "bad" as buying a 1997 Grand Prix? Or is it fine because it was redesigned before that year and doesn't have the issues the '97 gtp's do.

I KNOW the l36 engine doesn't have an HD trans but that does not matter.

will do well on both. you'll be able to run more boost on an L67.

not sure about the bonne, but it might have the 4t65e already in it (which would be good).

the 4t65e takes just as much abuse as the 4t65e-hd.

a 97 bonne will have a 4t60e in it if it is N/A.
a 97 SSEi (supercharged bonne) will have a4t65e-hd
97 Bonneville SE Not so much a 97 anymore

Yeah and in '98 the 4t65e was used with the n/a bonne.

I just thought I could make more power with less boost on the n/a motor since that intake manifold flows better than a blocked off suoercharger.

I don't think you would notice a big difference until 500+whp.

lower compression=more boost, more boost is *usually* better on a turbo setup.

You'll make more power with the L67, as long as you have a properly sized turbo.

nah, I always made better power on the L36's. Lighter rods, lighter pistons, more compression was always nice. The only problem is that pesky rod exploding issue they have passed 500whp.

Intake manifold you use has little to no effect on power.. you can swap a L36 intake onto a L67 motor for less than 20 bucks I bet.

In my experience, the L67 makes more power than the L36.
