Just purchased a 2.5" downpipe w/ cat from zzp. Would flowmaster 40's make a bit of a difference in hp and sound or should i just stick w/ stock. Also, do you think the stock exhaust piping makes a difference as compared to new stainless pipe? Im planning on getting Mufflers now but only if its worth it. Any comments would help. Thanks guys.

I remember reading somewhere, not sure....but I know for a fact that 2 people tested flowmasters vs stock on a dyno, and actually lost around 8 hp.

Apparently, they're not a good performance application on our cars.

For our cars, you can't beat the sound of Hooker Aero chambers. I'm not sure about performance.

stock mufflers flow quite well. its kinda hard to find a muffler comparable to it....

I'd stick to stock. plus they sound nice

Your better off getting a full catback. Changing mufflers wont really help any. Im happy with my SLP.

i run 3in racing pipe from the header back to flowmaster 40's. I like the sound quality. i would suggest that you keep your resonator in because that will keep the rasp to a minimal. I as well am putting a cut out in.

SLP's sound really good as long as you leave the cat and res. in.

I got Flowmaster 40's and they sound pretty awesome IMO

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm not getting headers so im getting a zzp ported PLOG to go with my zzp downpipe w/ cat. Just want to free up some exhaust flow for later on when i have enough add ons to put a 3.4" pully on. Well here, I have: WixAired CAI w/ 9" K&N cone, Autolite Platinum 104's plugs, 2.5" ZZP downpipe w/ Magnaflow HF cat, 180* tstat, and my brother owned a HP TUNER so he is going to tune my car for me a.s.a.p. I dont want to be like some of the NOOBS out there that basicly toss a 3.4" pully on a stock friggen engine and chip a piston. I might even go with a 3.5 if i can find one that not outa stock. What do you guys think? GO with 3.4" now or 3.5; or go with either with some more mods?

The stockers are good up to 300 wheel horse then you have to change them.
