Hello all, I am having a slight issue with my car.

I had a blowout about two weeks ago. (left front) After that incident my ABS/Traction control lights come on. I checked the fuses and all is well there.. any recommendations on what I should try next?

Think maybe when the tire blew out it messed up a sensor?

Wheel bearing. Sensor or hub, either way get it scanned to find out which one specifically.

The blow out prolly took the wire harness with it. Check for broken wires on the tire that blew out.

The ABS wiring harness run on top of the lower control arm. With age, the wiring insulation gets brittle and could easing break upon impact from a blown tire. A few years back, I had a problem with the ABS and TCS going out while turning at low speeds while parking. GM makes a connector with enough wire to go from the hub/sensor to the harness on the front of the subframe. A damaged wire harness may cause the hub sensor to fail. Unfortunately, the sensor is in the hub. I had to replace the connectors and hubs on both side to fix my problem.

BTW - my problem started after I had the transmission replaced. There was no visible sign of damage to the harness. I was able to determine the harness was bad by checking continuity at the connector near the hub and where wire for the connector left the harness on the subframe.

I've got this same issue on the wife's 02GT. ABS & trac. light came on yesterday then went out today. Break fluid level is good and I put 2 new wheel bearings in this summer. Maybe just cold weather?

Sorry robinson220, not trying to jack your thread. Doesn't make sense to make 2 threads about the same problem.

Cold weather or brake fluid level would have nothing to do with your ABS/Trac light... these cars have pretty common issues with the wiring from the bearing. and the Ebcm shiit the bed too

Didn't take the time to search for a thread with same issues.. so my apology for jacking your thread.

I've had these same lights come on in my '00 GT. It's obviously a code for an error. From what I've researched on the internet (sorry about not having sources!) it has to do with your ABS sensor. It could be from a single bad reading or multiple bad readings. Check your wiring for visible breaks or disconnects. I'm unsure of whether or not a reset by a computer is necessary, but it will show you the exact problem. Also, removing fuses does absolutely nothing. Hoped this helped at least a little.
