Did you have any luck figuring this out? I have a 2001 doing the same thing and am leaning towards the BCM since it even does it occasionally with the keyless entry and trunk lid along with a random combination of doors

Experiencing the same issue... Also, after pulling the fuse, the lights will stay barely lit. They're LED's if that matters.

    Anyone have any luck?

Just tried that. Dings with the door(s) open. Locks instantly with the door(s) closed. Also, could a bad door lock actuator be back feeding current to the courtesy lights?

I ended up fixing mine after taking the door panels off to replace/test speakers. The door lock switch was broken by the previous owner so I fixed it and I had some bad connections in the passenger door and it has worked every time since, except when I hit the dimmer switch that one time a month later

Forgive me, I'm still learning. Wouldn't the DIC show the door as "open"?

Now I"m thinking it could be my made in china LED's. I pulled just one of the 6 courtesy lights, and replaced with a standard 194 incandescent, and they all act like they should.

I'm going to replace all courtesy lights back to standard bulbs and see if that fixes my problem.

Changed just one bulb back to incandescent, and all is well. Considering problem solved... for now.
