I have a noise in the front end of my 01 Grand Prix. It sounded much like a CV axle. I jacked the car up, checked the tie rod ends and wheel bearings and didn't see anything that concerned me. When driving down the road, usually anything over 30 MPH, I notice an occasional popping in the front-end. Then when I turn, it creaks fairly loudly, but only when I turn right???? I replaced the CV axle hoping this was the issue, but alas, no luck.

    Thoughts?

The creaking may be the strut mount. Mine do this when it's cold out. Not sure on the popping issue.

Get it up on a jack and have someone turn right while you listen so you can pinpoint the noise.

Might be sway bar bushings where it bolts to the cradle or a cracked sway bar

Thanks, guys. I looked underneath the vehicle and I think this is what the issue is. On the plus side, I did eliminate an annoying vibration I've had in my car for a while by replacing that CV axle. It had been replaced once before and the vibration was still there, BUT it was only replaced from the shaft housing thing outward (instead of pulling the entire shaft). Long story, DON'T ASK. LOL. Needless to say, I did it right this time and it is ok.
