    A 3.1 straight piped causes it.

    I'm gunna guess it's due to the fact that there isn't enough output in the engine to sustain the low back pressure of a straight pipe..

    But i bet someone will correct me

    Well its straight piped with no resonator or mufflers. So you are going to hear the "back fires" and popping sounds as you let off the gas.

    Install a resonator and most of the sound will go away.

    your wrong.
    buddies 3.8 backfires as well.
    its lack of a resonator most likely.

    Well if you want the sound to go away, either install a resonator right after the cat converter or install a aftermarket muffler.

    3.1 will always sound better than a 3.8. remember that.
    flowmaster will sound good. borla sound the best but cost the most.

    you're**

    Borla or bust!! ZZP doesn't sound bad imo on a 3.8, but I prefer stock sound (no sound) to anything

    A backfire is caused by un-burnt fuel...and with nothing in its path restricting it...yeahhhh.

    Resonator will help it but might not fix it all.

    You guys are dumb.

    Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb!!!

    Corsa or Borla is best, magnaflow sounds good with a solid resonator.

    Otherwise whatever doesn't break the bank, its a small V6, its not going to sounds threatening to anything but a scooter.

    Another thing to note.

    3100 = 60*

    3800 = 90*

    We got bent.

    60* exhaust note is way better.
