Shop around $500 for a car is total b/s. around $200 is reasonable. You have only one cat....that is a giveaway to avoid this shop.
Squirrels are my engine. I need a Ford Regal

ok so i was actually able to work out a deal with a shop. they said they'd put in a brand new GM cat for $400. i said "sounds good, just keep the old cat so i can see it, and keep my car on the lift so i can see the new cat securely in place" handed over the keys and told them id see them tomorrow morning. went back the next day and they told that when they took off the old cat, they saw light threw it so my cat was fine. so now im like wtf. now a while ago i started to feel these shakes like that transmition was skipping so i had it checked out and it was fine. but that i needed a right axle bushing and it was banging against the CV joint. he just replaced the cv joint and it was fine for a while. so could that be the problem? i just need an axle bushing and a good tune up?

if so, what is the right price for the bushing and cv joint? last time he charged me $220.
