Hello all, I am going to replace fuel level sensor on my gt and i have some questions. The pump has a lock ring instead of a c clip. Everyone said there should be a c clip. It looks like there is not enough room to pull pump out of tank from the trunk. When i get the lock ring off, will there be enough room for the pump to be turned enough in the tank to take it out at an angle? I hope i dont have to drop tank to do this. It looks like there is not enough space to pull straight up as is will hit the trunk pan where the acess cover is. Hope this isn't a thread that is common and i could not find it. If it is i aplogize. Any suggestions before I start? Thanks

it will fit through the hole and come out, you need to hit the ring to turn it, (a brass punch is recommended but a screw driver works) then it will pop loose.

Thanks Scottydoggs....... I've removed rings before from tanks that had to be dropped. I was pleasantley suprised to find the acess door in the trunk. Maybe the pump is alot smaller in diameter than the lock ring is. If not, it looks like it will not come straight up from the tank. Got my fingers crosees. Thanks again.
