I don't know from experience but if you keep your car and factory exhaust I don't think you'll notice it being much if any louder.

Headers really will not affect sound output if you are keeping your stock exhaust.

I kept stock exhaust when I did my headers. Aside from the resonator leak, it sounds the same. The actual sound may be a tad more audible but there's no night and day difference.

Ive got headers on stock exhaust with cat removed. Its not too much louder. Gives it a better tone.

Yeah i plan on keeping the stock exhaust so in that case you guys are saying it shouldn't make much of a difference noise wise

Can be as loud as you want it.

The exhaust does tend to sound a bit more....crisp. -- I.E. less muffled.

    I like it.

It's not bad as long as you keep a cat. Even a high flow cat takes care of a lot of the noise. Overall though..it's not much louder.

There will be more noise difference if you go with an open cone intake, than if you go with headers, put it that way.

Would I be better off with the stock cat or getting a high flow cat

You want a quality cat converter if you have emissions and or want to keep the o2 sensor from going off. A custom tune can help get rid of the codes forever.

Highflow cats are just that, high flow, they will flow too well for what the car normally see's for readings and will throw a cat code.

I mean you could hack your stock cat off and custom weld it back into the headers downpipe section if you wanted.

I have SD's no cat and stock catback. Its slightly louder but still sounds stock. This is all relative to how old your resonator and mufflers are also.

I have Flowmaster super 44's and with adding headers it added a little more noise. Not much. Sounds good idling.

Yeah, very "speical" if they think a 3800 can sound cool with flows and magnaflows.

Agree. I only like the sound when its idling. Once the RPMs go above 3000, it sounds pretty raspy.
