    I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT. I have a problem with the acceleration pedal not returning to the right position when I let off the gas. When I completely take my foot of the gas the Acceleration pedal does not come back to the complete forward position. It just kind of hangs there with a lot of wobble and room to move. Does anybody have any ideas on how to tighten this up so that it moves back into the complete forward position and making the acceleration pedal heavier so it doesn't just float when accelerating?

    Not sure what you're saying. The throttle sticks?

    not sure either.....you mean you can lift the pedal up? if so thats normal.

    take the matt out from under the pedal? long shot.....

    ^ If not this, then manually rotate the TB by hand and see if it is binding there. If it gets too much carbon inside I have seen the throttle not snap back like it should, but never get stuck. I would make sure it rotates ok by hand and doesn't bind up.

    I did word it very badly. On my other cars the acceleration pedal has no slack at all. But on the Grand Prix there is quite alot of slack before the car starts to accelerate when pushing the gas. Is there some kind of way to fix that?

    Check your throttle cable under the hood for damage.

    with the car off have someone floor the gas pedal, then you make sure its getting full throttle by pulling the lever, if you can move it any more, the cable is coming apart.

    you can also take the cable end off the TB and move it in and out by hand to make sure its sliding smooth. they do go bad over time.

    i think its safe to say we all broke a brake cable on a bicycle at some point in our lives. same deal.
