Alright so this may be a dumb question but my climate controls are all beat up and look really bad so I was going to replace them. I have a 04 gt1 so could I put in a dual climate control unit and everything would work fine? I am guessing I couldn't do that so then how much work would it be to make that work? Thanks for the help in advance!

Not sure on 04+, but on 97-03 you can not swap them, wire harness is not the same.

so if that is the same case for the 04+ then would I just need a new harness and then it would work?

For us, its not simple, you'd have to rip everything out and start all over with a whole wire harness, and even then, it might not work because on the way the bcm controls it all.
