I was backing up, tapped the gas, and the car just stalled. Had to put it back in park and start it again. No problems at all starting it up either. Then I go to turn about a minute up the road and it did it again as I was slowly turning. Then on my way home, once driving down the street from a greenlight, the car wouldn't shift and the rpms just rised until I took my foot off the gas. Anyone know what this might be? After spending around $1500 already on repairs for this car more problems sounds horrifying. I have a 2000 GTP. No codes while it was happening, but a few days ago the ses was on for about 25 mins then shut off. Help me. I hate my life right now

Do you think it would be a throttle position sensor?
Edit: we posted the same time, no I have not replaced that but months ago I had a throttle position code but it went away and never acted up. The only other I changed in the engine block was a knock sensor.

Grab a throttle position sensor and mass airflow sensor off amazon. Think they run around $70 shipped for both of them. I had the same exact problem with mine. It was the throttle position sensor. Grabbed the mass airflow sensor while I was at it because it was so cheap. When I pulled that out, I could tell it was a good idea to replace it, as it was all gunned up.

Fired her up after that and she's been golden ever since.

Easy fix and one you should be able to do yourself too! Think you just need a torx bit to take the screws out...

How about we diagnose things before shotgunning parts? Have the code read. it's in history. Then let's go from there.

LOL, I love dramatic people. A little car problem and you post like it's the end of the world. Lemme know when someone you love dies.. then talk about how bad of a day you are having.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I've experienced loved ones passing away. It was late last and I was just pissed off about more problems my car was having.

So, today i go to Advanced Auto and pick up a TPS even though they didn't have any torx t20/t15 safety bits. Went to a Napa down the street from there, they didn't have any either. After that i went to a local hardware store and still, no luck. Now i have a TPS i can't use at the moment.
