My daughters drivers side window has been causing her quite a few headaches. For over a year the driver side window has been intermittently been staying down. We replaced the door panel switch but that only seemed to work for awhile. I have looked up the window motor on Rock Auto and they list a motor and also a window regulator. Does anyone have any idea which i should order? Thanks for your help.

in my experience i have repalced the regulators and motors in all four of my doors and replaced the master switch (driver side) once. everytime i have had issues with my windows it has been the regulator. the cables get bound up and caught up in the motor. i have just been lucky enough to go to the junk yard and pick up another one. but i have bought new ones. i have found them come together regulator and motor on ebay. but it would help if you could elaborate on what the window is doing... when you replaced the switch was the window working after that??what year grand prix does she have??

it's usually the regulator....the wires get unwound or just get tangled up in themselves...ugly mess....best thing is just replace the motor and regulator all in one...junkyard is cheaper... ez to do too...this way if the motor isn't the problem you have an extra motor for a rainy day
