Bought one from chromeintakes off ebay.

Trying to hook up, but unsure what to do. Here's what it looks like after the main filter box is off.

There's an extra hose, not sure what to do.. and the electrical box thing that was in the filter.

    Here's it with it on..

The hose has nowhere to go and I'm not sure if what to do with the electrical box thing below it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of California delivered W-bodies.

This is what happens when you buy anything "universal" of ebay. Hope you didn't spend too much money on it.

Yeah, I read about the california shiz.. then I saw the tag on my car by filter saying this was conformed for California laws or w/e, I was like d'oh.

Spent $19 on it, so I'm not worried.

    Vague answers don't help me.

Either respond with an idea that will help me or don't post.

    Edit: you have my thanks.

    OP:

If that is the case, little filter or some sort and call it a day.

Hope there isn't a big fine for a non-CARB approved intake.

Disconnect your MAF from that black sloppy hose. Go to oreilly advanced or pep boys and get a spectre coupler. Connect that couple from your maf to your throttle body. All that black rubber hose is doing is bottle necking your air flow. Dont do that its going to make things worse

You're not going to get a Spectre coupler to hook it up that way. They are odd ball sizes, something like 3 1/4 or something.

I ordered my couplers because Spectre ones weren't even close.

My 3 inch coupler from weapon are worked on my TB and MAF. Spectre will work with a little bit of stretching and some lube from Seafoam Deep Creep. Thats what i did. Stretched in onto that ***** for a tight fit

I prefer PROPER fitting, just in case it ever has to come apart again.

Trust me in time after all the heat coming from the engine it kind of molds the coupler into the size you need it to be.

Trust me. I have had to stretch couplers to get them to fit before, and the next time it had to be done it had to be stretched again. A coupler that is too small, will always be too small.

High quality proper size coupler > Any Spectre Coupler (especially ones that have to be stretched to fit)

if you took off the rubber hose and put that filter on the canister below it'd look much nicer.
