if you have an air tool with a grinder or wire brush attachment you can you that. my dad did that to get a stuck gasket off my downpipe when i installed my catback. you must be very careful though.
you can get autoparts cleaner that you can just let it soak in it and brush it off with a wire brush. my dad has some its literally called autoparts cleaner.
just be careful of the maf sensor, i dont know if i would do that unless you can remove it.
^^that would probably be your best bet^^
heres the cheap skate way to make it shine, go inside grab one of them sponges with the scotch brite pad kinda scrubby side, dry, and scrub the crap out of the gasket mating surfaces.
or go get a scotch brite pad. green or red would work well for this.
i would just scrape it off with a razor tho. and be done with it.
Put the blade nearly flat
The 3M disks (known as cookies) should not typically be used as you can easily wear down part of the aluminum if you aren't proficient.
There is a thing called gasket remover. I've seen it in an aerosol. Never tried it though..I'm proficient.
Permatex gasket remover...comes in an aerosol or a gel/liquid.
Apply to the gasket, wait a few minutes, and scrape off...works wonders.
But, about 5minutes with a razor blade will work fine.
Gasket scrapers work wonders![]()
They do most of the time, but when you're working on a small piece like the TB, it's easy to slip and gouge your hand really bad. And yes, it hurt like all hell.
I use a wire brush attachment on my drill.
