I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT that has a leak some where in the A/C system. The free on leaks on in days when completely filling the system. We have a free on sniffer to detect leaks that isn't finding on on the outside portion. We think it might be something in the dash. Any suggestions?

First, its called freon. Second, have you run some UV die through the system yet? Might be a better alternative to the sniffer. There is nothing in the dash that contains freon. Check the high side (i think its the high one, anyway) fitting (the one on the drivers side above the trans). I had an issue recently where the schrader valve in it was not sealing and did not know it until I removed the cap to stick the gauges on it. Put a little pag on it and pressed it a few times and it sealed up again. Was the cause of my slow leak.

We have used 4 cans of freon with die in it and 5 cans of stop leak with die in it. And this is not a slow leak. It is very rapidly leaking out. And @dsmuts, how do we access the evaporator?

You would have to pull the dash apart. When mine was leaking and I couldn't find the leak it was the compressor
