anyone have any ideas on how to stop the rear view mirror from vibrating into down position....everytime i look in my rear view all i can see is my back seats from the bass.

I dont mean to sound like a jackass, but this is like the third or fourth thread Ive had to move today alone. We need to pay attention to where we are posting up at and make sure it is in the appropriate location.
dude its drivin me nuts...i have never had it vibrate down this bad...it basically vibrates down til it wont go down anymore....i guess get it to my standards and super glue the b1tch lol...i know in my head i will "never" sell my car so i guess thats the only option![]()
I super glued mine because of the bass moving it.
I have superglued mine before but it didnt last but 2 days before moving again. I always thought of taking the mirror apart and putting some rubber cement or plastidip in the mirror hole and letting it dry so there would be a rubbery gription but never have done it yet.![]()
mine vibrates, but doesn't move (never had one that did even in the van it stayed where I wanted it) check for set screws sounds like the ball socket is loose
remove the rear view mirror, its not regulated to be there by the NHSB, you only need 2 rear facing mirrors.
If its always pointing at the floor just rip it off and no more problems
the stricter of the laws is the one to be enforced
They must have 2 rear facing mirrors, one of which must be on the left side. Thats federal vehicle code. Ive owned cars that were never equipped with seat-belts and been thru the court system for years with new cops enforcing new laws on grandfathered vehicles. However, While the court fights were going on I read alot of vehicle codes. From federal down to my local town.
I am very happy to figure this out as soon as I have his local town so I can read the local ordinance. SC state law is the same as federal law.
I have dealt with it in several states, if it came with a mirror it must remain regardless of what is added. All you have to do is ask at the police department
