I had one in my hands the other day. Kinda wanted to take pics, needed to have her car back together in under 20 minutes for her to go to work though. Yeah..took 20 min.

Where the float attaches to the canister, there is what looks like a piece with lines on it. That's the resistor. The float has a plastic piece attached to it and there's two metal tabs that come off it. At the end of those metal tabs..there's three smaller tabs on each that ride on the resistor.
