Hello everyone, I have a 97' Grand prix gt that I bought a few months ago, and the a/c has not worked at all since I bought it. The a/c compressor cluth would not engage or anything. So hoping to get lucky I went out today and bought some r-134a to recharge the system hoping everything would be fine. Well it's not.
When I added the refrigirant everything seemed fine, the clutch on the compressor engaged and it started blowing cold air out of the vents. However the clutch didn't disengage at all. I pulled the relay and switched it with the horn relay to see if that was the problem, and same thing. As long as the a/c is on, the clutch is engaged all the time. It was 80 degrees here today, and the can I used said for that temp. fill to 50 psi, and I filled it to about 47. So I know it's not overcharged.. Any ideas? Any feedback will be much appreciated. Thank you.
