97-03 04-08 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP 3.8L EXHAUST HEADER | eBay Anyone ever mess with these? I was thinking about buying a set because they are not slip fit and they dump to 2.5. Any Input ? Also it looks like there is 5 or 6 companies on ebay selling what look to be all SD headers.I need to get the headers ordered but there is a lot of pros and cons for any of them and i hate dealing with Pain in the ass headers. The SD's kinda turn me off cause you have to use rtv on them and i would have to buy band clamps?? The thing is i can only bend 2.5 so if i used the SD 's i would have to reduce down but it looks like it may come with that pipe right? The SD's are 200, now these pacesetter knock offs if thats what they are?Are the about the same price so which one guys?

    Yeah, buy those.

    The most PITA headers ever.

You want the slip fit SD ones, not this Pacesetter bullsh1t.

The only reason you want anything Pacesetter related on the 3800 is for a huge build that flows like crazy that needs big primaries. But then you better be good with a welder because they leak like a sieve.

So using a little bit of rtv sways you from getting SD that are known to fit ROFL. Band clamps are like $20 total...frozenboost.com and you don't have to use rtv w/ SD but it cheap insurance. But seriously don't go w/ the headers in the link your goin to hate yourself later go w// SD and call it a day.

    My pacesetters never leaked...

Because they are welded. Life isn't as hard as some people make it...

Yeah thats what i am getting the SD's thanks guys ! What size band clamps do i need how many? The thing that i been worried about is our bender only has 2.5in dies right now so i cant go any bigger. It looks like the SD's come with a reducer to tie into the orig system right? i am hoping i can use that, still dont know what to use for a muffler maybe a turbo or a walker i dont want it loud but i am not using a glasspack on it straight pipe to the muffler.Walker has these sound FX mufflers whatever that means for cheap i wanted to use a stock muffler and keep the twin tips to look factory but they are 2 in inlet i want 2.5.

Yeah, straight pipe to the mufflers is a fantastic plan of attack, Eagle One.

READ THE THREAD IN MY SIGNATURE.

In it (if you would have done that), there is a header thread, that links to you and describes every possible option out there for you.

But, who reads anymore...**** research. That's not how this new generation rolls.

Slick buddy whats up ? I have ****ty luck soon as i buy the damn things someone will say look what i bought and be 10 times better.5 finger yeah you guys are right being lazy you guys went to a lot of hard work and these subjects shouldnt have to keep going and going.I mean no disrespect a lot of the times i will search and it always give me problems.I am buying the headers tonight if i can stay awake to bid.I went and got a bumper cover today for my car it was like 110 degrees with heat index.Got a deal though 20.00 so had to do it.Trying to make progress still need pulley and to send PCM to Ryan at Sinister.Clean up the engine and bay I think its goin to be a pretty decent car for what i will have in it.A local guy has a L67 complete w/PCM asking 400 may try to get for a spare hard to pass up.
