I just installed a custom air intake system and now I have this gurgling noise come from my engine(or intake).

I've tried searching for it and all i found was that some people said it was normal and goes away after the engine warms up. I haven't tested this yet because I just found out at 11pm and did not wanna go drive around tonight. I will probably test that theory tomorrow.

Has anyone else got this noise? Is it normal?

My car is a 97 GTP

Mine was more of an ear splitting whistle for about the first 20 seconds after the car was started cold... then it got louder for about 3 seconds, followed by an audible click, then quiet. Just motor after that

Alright thanks, that's what I've read on google but wasn't sure if it was true. It kinda makes my car sound like **** lol. Is it true that it goes away once the engine gets warm?

The only thing you can do now is get some SLP mufflers to make the exhaust louder than the intake.

When I heard the car start gurgling, it stopped when it got up to heat and the thermostat opened.

Then coolant started pissing out of my coolant elbow.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Get headers, 3.4" pulley, and tune and see if that helps you get over the fact that while idling the intake makes a funny noise.

Youtube CAI on a GTP 97-03. stock they all sound funny while idling, its normal. Or make a video and post it so we can share in this experience.

I may take a video later this week, but how much would headers and a new pulley cost?

My 2004 GT has this air cavitation noise from the K&N intake between about 2000-3000 rpm. Between that and the three coil packs wining for the ignition, it sounds odd. I used to worry about it, but after putting 100k miles on the car, getting more power and/or fuel economy with this intake, I just ignore it now.

After the GM dexcool lawsuit, I changed out the dextcool and keep my overflow canister closer to the high mark. Upon moving from a standstill I hear it slosh around more now too. I figure this is just making sure the car works the way I want even if it sounds worse.
