OK so I have read a ton of threads and just about have this figured out. I am attempting to replace my fuel level sending unit. I found a useful link to buy one off ebay and how to's to replace it but....

I am not sure how to remove the center fuel fitting on top of the tank? See pic red circle. It looks like if I squeeze the outer ring the clips will spread apart to clear a groove they seem to be in?? The line moves freely so it is loose but can't get it past the clips?? Am I wrong about how these work or just not getting them to open enough?? Even with small fingers it seems impossible to get in there and squeeze this ring enough AND try to pull the line off at the same time.

I was able to easily remove the outer 2 lines and both electrical connectors, even the one that had a safety pin holding the lock clip on??? Was also able to start the ring moving so I know I should be able to get it out just need to get that dam middle line off!

Thanks for any info, tips, advice.

Try using a angled pick and get in there while you squeeze it to try and pop it off.

I use a pair of needle nose pliers. That one is similar to the other two. You'll get it..
