No you don't!!! If the system is empty you can pull a vacuum and it will pull the freon into the system!!! If you can't maintain a vacuum, YOU HAVE A BIG ENOUGH LEAK YOU NEED TO FIX IT!! Why praytel half ass it and not fix it?
