    What's the best way to separate the intercooler plates to get the core out?

    ZZP has obviously used some strong ass sealant to keep it closed. But it needs to be changed.

    thats what we've been doing. putting them in the break away point on the seams and twisting, tapping and prying...but no good

    work your way around the edge once youre able to pry up a small section. it'll take a bit of effort.

    I thought I read something on clubgp about using PB blaster or WD-40...Maybe that was just you on there though. lol

    Semi old thread. What would one use to reseal the two plates?
    2001 Regal GS, PLOG, 3" DP, 1.9's/L76 springs. 21* of timing on a 3.4"

    RTV. Ultra Gray is what ZZP recommends I think but Bill likes the Hi-temp Red.
