Mysteriously over the weekend the '01 decided that the driver side climate control slider didn't want to fully engage max cold- The passenger side will freeze you out, but the driver seems to be stuck in the middle position. I'm leaning toward a blend door actuator , as it has vacuum, and will engage heat on the offending side, just not full cold position. Anyone ever have this issue?

I did in the silver car.

Driver's side actuator fixed it. You can yank it out and manually crank the thing back and put it back in to see if that changes anything...just to test it.

That's what I did to determine it, as the passenger side would blow ice cold but the driver's side wouldn't get lower than possibly cabin temp...which sucked...especially in the summer.

I'm not a big guy, and it was still a major PITA.

I didn't take the seat out like most people do though.

the drivers side is the fun side for sure.

you need to pop off the plastic under the wheel, the steel knee bolster, the foot cover underneath, (thats need to come off only so you can see what you are doing) then look in from the front right side by the console to find it, (where a flash light helps a ton) then from underneath you reach up to get to it. its held in with 2 small bolts, and its tight on that side. a short nut driver was what got it out for me, tried the small ratchet but no dice. no room to turn it much.

you'll want beer when you are done with it for sure lol

The seat is definately coming out for my big ass. Probably the console, the dash, and the taillights too. Alldata shows a R/L actuator, but I was only able to locate one P/N for each- I assume they are interchangeable. Yay, me.

no need to go that far, on your knees out side the door works well, thats how i did mine, and im a huge ass lank. console out is of no help at all, and the seat removal is so not needed.

mine are still not replaced and ive been under there 4 times in the last month to swap back to heat or a/c. so im a pro now at getting to this pos.

Well, fail on that diagnosis. Didn't fix it. Good news is, it's about a 15 minutes install. Guess I'm going to head unit next.

Mine started doing the same thing when i ran out of Freon. Eventually both side were blowing warm air but driver side definitely went first. Another project for this year.

I have very similar issue. Blows warm-hot air out driver side and ice cold on passenger side. replaced the head ($300) and left actuator and still same! Any ideas? 03 GT manual climate control with dual zone levers. Thanks
