Hi everyone. Long time Grand Prix owner, First time poster on this forum.
I have a 2004 Grand Prix GT1. I've had it for 7 years (Original owner) and it currently has 170,000 miles on it. Hands down, best car I have ever owned. Enough of the praise of the Grand Prix and time for the question.
My battery died this morning and I had to get it replaced. (2nd Battery I've had to put in it. The 1st one lasted about 3.5 years and about 100K.) Luckily for me it was still under the free replacement program from Autozone so it was swapped out at zero dollars. As I was replacing the battery, I was fighting with the negative battery cable. As I'm sure everyone knows, it's a tight fit to get the cable on.
As I was re-installing the cables, I couldn't help to wonder why Pontiac just didn't make the cables side mounted versus the top mounted or give some extra slack on the cables to make installing an aftermarket battery and still have it sit in the tray correctly.
So the question is. Is there a retrofit cable to switch them over to side posters or a way to get some extra slack into them?
