so i did a back yard coolant flush today and after about 20min of driving the "low coolant" light comes on then is goes off after a little bit then it comes on and so on and so forth for probably 10 miles now im home the car doesnt even come close to over heating its actually pretty normal temps. i think i broke the level sensor i did pull the over flow tank out to clean it. im stumped

add coolant and re bleed the system.

You probably have an air bubble in there.

should i bleed it through the spot on the tstat?

yeah bleed it on top the thermostat housing.

ive never bled the coolant before should i open the bleeder start it up and wait for the air bubbles to come out then when its a steady stream close it back up?

you have to do it when the thermostat is open. When the car is warmed up open the bleeder and it should spit some bubbles out. Close it and reopen it a few times. When you get nothing but a steady stream there is no more air bubbles.

i like to wait till the fans come on, that way you know the T stat is open, then open the bleeder. i leave the rad cap off the whole time, if coolant dribbles out dont worry about it.

the cars cold right now you say i should start it up and let it idle till the tstat opens up at 195 degrees then open the bleeder and wait till a steady stream comes out?

yes sir, thats how i do it.
just let it idle till the fans come on, it can take up to 15 minutes.

alright i bled it with the tstat open a lot of bubbles came out but i did it a few times and now its a steady stream, so i should be all set right?

you should be, just keep an eye on your gauge and check the level down the road.
some people have had to to it over and over. i do it one time and im set.

alright drove it about 10miles or so no light everything seems fine ill do it again if the light comes on but thanks guys very very helpful
