Need help with DTC P0507

This code popped up yesterday. I cleared it and looked it up online. The code means my car is idling higher than expected. I checked & it was idling at around 800-900rpm. Possible problems are; vacuum leaks, bad pcv,bad IAC Valve, failed EVAP system, leaky egr(I dont have one).

As for vacuum leaks, I dont have any leaks. I've wasted two cans of carb cleaner looking for one. I Just wasted $40 replacing the IAC valve. It fixed nothing. I took the pcv out, & found it covered in oil. I cleaned it off, put it back together, and sealed it with rtv, since I didnt have a pcv gasket. After doing that my car started idling even higher at 1100-1300rpms. Should I go ahead and assume its the pcv? How would I know if the problem is a failed evap system?

Just pop a new pcv into it they are cheap. It's hard to get all the little crap out of them therefore they don't want to work right.

yeah. I just wanted to double check on here and see what others had to say. I mean my cars idled high plenty of times and nvr popped this code. Ill go ahead and replace it and see what happens

New PCV didnt help much. Idle is down to high 600s but the car still runs like it has a bigass vacuum leak. Cruising at 40mph my boost gauge reads between -5 & -10. Way off. do I have a vacuum leak that I cant find?

what happens if the car is idling too high and you then unplug the IAC? Does it change? stay same? stall?

In short, yes. You've probably already covered this but inspect all the vacuum line connections from the boost control solenoid to the fpr, the LIM vacuum as those like to crack, back to the maf. As far as your PCV, did you get the little O-ring back on where it's supposed to be when you replaced it? That's a biggie that'll cause issues. Another thing you can do is get a throttle body gasket, pull the throttle body off and clean any gunk out from behind there. clean the MAF with some CRC MAF cleaner as well.

I tried that once before I switched to the new IAC sensor. Nothing happened.

my maf is new straight from RockAuto but I may take it out and clean it anyway.The TB and pcv are rtv'd in place and do not leak. All my vacuum lines are new btw.

But did you make sure the O-ring that goes around the Pcv valve is there and in the right spot? I'm not talking about the cover on the Pcv, talking about the o-ring that goes around the Pcv valve.

The pcv itself has an oring? I thought you jusz slid it back onto the spring and put it back in the supercharger. Ive never noticed a oring there before.

I went & Googled 3he PCV Oring to see what it was and where it went on the pcv. Sure enough I dont have one on my pcv now and there wasnt one before.

Have you tried the AIT, if not already remedied.
I had the same problem that was racking my brain, and talked to a fellow o'reilly employee who suggested a new one.

In our case it's called an IAT and yes..he mentioned that early in the thread. Problem should be solved as it's nearly 5 months later.
