So after spraying carb cleaner around i think i found my vac leak that is screwing with my fuel trims. the supercharger gasket i got when i did my gen v swap 2 months ago is splitting apart in front corner by the snout. Idle changes when i spray there so i know there's a leak but the guy at the dealership told me those supercharger gaskets dont usually fail like that and he thought the supercharger i got could be warped or off plane. Going to be checking tomorrow either way but which do you guys think is more likely? Its a felpro i believe if that matters

    Its possible.

Id blame an install error for this to happen. Uncleaned surface or the gasket got tweeked before install.

im guessing surface wasnt perfect but its spitting on the gasket at a point that isnt under the supercharger just one of the parts that sticks out

I wasn't aware Fel Pro had a Gen V gasket out there yet. Got a part number?

I'd use the GM metal gasket with inlaid rubber and plug the coolant ports if they are the recessed ones.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

It was just a gasket from the dealer looked like a Felpro gasket may not have been. It wasn't metal it was a paper type gasket like the gaskets for the l67 throttlebody where do i get a metal gen v gasket?

    Part numbesr

There are only two gaskets I'm aware of. A fiber type one with metal inside it and the o-rings are integral to it. Then there's the metal one. The difference depended on when your LIM was made. If the coolant ports were recessed, then it got the fiber one, if they weren't, it gets the metal one.

    Fiber

    metal

However if you block the coolant ports. You can use the metal one on either. The fiber one..is not an equal to the TB gasket, it was different than any standard paper gasket I've used.

no idea when it was made but coolant ports are blocked off so it doesnt matter i guess. so 12584411 is that part number for the gen v aluminum gasket? Do i need to use silicone under it on top of the lower intake to get a better seal or is it not recommended?

Kinda silly for me to post it if it's the wrong number. I double checked all those part numbers before putting that together. Order with confidence.
