I have a 98 gtp Daytona edition#229. I bought the car used in December 2011. The tcs will not activate and neither will the low trac or the cruise control, are all these connected somehow. Also from a dead stop hard takeoff it will spin the wheel for about 2 secs then the engine dies back to about 1000 to 1500 rpms and will not pick back up until I completely let off the accelerator and them accelerate again. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd be willing to bet that your TCS is active judging by the wheelspin then the power retard until letting off. The bulb that indicates Trac-Off is probably burnt out. Mine is since I manually turn it off all the time.

The cruise I would check for blown fuses, and then check the cable under the hood to see if its even attached.

Yeah it's says tcs off all the time and pressing the button beside the light doesn't change it. Does the button on the shifter activate the low trac

The "low trac" is just an indicator that lights up when the wheels spin, it is not a feature. I'd be willing to bet that you have a wheel speed sensor that is bad (or hub bearing) and the TCS system is inactive. My 00 GT is like that right now.

My question is if you stomp the brakes does the ABS work or do your wheels lock up?

Yes my abs light is on. I found on zz performance a module I can wire in that when the vehicle is started the tcs automatically goes to a default off position. Would that be a good buy. Also what is the button on the shifter as when I press it nothing happens.

when the abs and trac off light come on usually it means you have a bad hub/speed sensor in the hub.

do what fordman said, and check back. abs should not work, and the trac control should not work either. but things happen.

that small button on the shifter is the performance shift button. it changes how your trans shifts. it should light up on your dash, maybe the bulb burnt out for it.
