First this I usually do when working on my vehicles is putting them in neutral and using wheel chocks. Today I used the wheel chocks, removed the battery, unhooked everything under the hood, and pulled the engine out. Later I pulled the wheel chocks and was going to push the GP outside to clean out the engine bay. Imagine my surprise when it wouldn't move. Yep you guessed it --- I forgot to put it in neutral. I turned the key to the on position and tried to put the shifter in neutral but it wouldn't budge. The transmission is still in the vehicle and nothing was taken off of it. I did a search and saw several threads with this problem, but nothing with it happening without a battery in and everything unhooked from the engine.
Any ideas how to get the tranny into neutral? Also any help on getting the ignition switch to turn back to get the key out (although this isn't that big of a deal right now).
