I recently bought a 2004 Grand Prix GT. The front passenger side turn signal does not work. The rear on that side works as well as the parking light which is the same bulb. I replaced the bulb, still no turn signal. Anyone have this happen? Would it be a fuse or a relay? All 3 other corners work as far as blinkers and parking lights. Any help appreciated! Thank!

is the rear of the side that is out, does it do a double flash? (flashes at double speed?) if so the bulbs not making a good contact to the socket.

look for corrosion in the socket, and broken wires at the plugs to the bulb sockets.

if its all crudded up inside, take a screw driver to get the heavy stuff out, then use some sand paper to clean up the 2 contacts at the bottom and the sides of the socket. and a dab of di electrical grease can help it to not happen again.

Thanks for the reply. It was blinking at double speed yes, thats why I thought just a burnt out bulb. The rear is not out, it still works @ double flash. I could try to clean it out, but if I remember there wasn't any corrosion I noticed. And the park light in that same bulb works?

its the front socket you want to check out, not the rear.

thats how GM lets you know you have a bulb out. any time you get the double flash when using the directional, you have a bulb out. or bad connection.

Yeah I did that, still looks clean and good? Any relays or flasher fuses to check?

you check the socket for power yet? unplug the socket and test at the plug for power?

when a flasher goes bad it stops flashing all together. and im not to sure about any relays for the turn signals.

I will check that too...........I haven't yet; however, I did notice the amber "daytime running light" does not work, but if I turn on the headlights, then the parking light works. I was also going to check the wiring to the outlet to see if there may be a loose wore or cut wire somewhere.

that running lamp is a double filament bulb, (like a brake light bulb) pop it out and check it too.

Okay, so.....the front passenger passenger daytime light doesn't work, yet the same bulb works when the headlights are on, which would be the same filament in the bulb. (One filament for flasher, one for DRL?). After talking to someone who knows more than I do about these cars, could it be something in the body control module not sending the right signal to that side for that bulb? Thanks

when all looks good at the ends where it counts, yeah next step is to start digging deeper. im no electrical pro by any means, but i do know in the right hands multi meter can lead you to your failure point most of the time.

could start looking at the harness for areas that rub on body parts, could have worn through in a spot and broke a wire or two.

do you have a simple test light? if so pull the side that works, unplug the turn signal and see which wire is live power when the the blinker is on, the test light should flash,(key to on) then try the same pin on the side that dont work, to rule out the socket all together, i do know that sometimes when one wire goes bad it can affect another thing in line with it, aka the drl.

not sure if you have or not, but as odd as it may seem, check the rear bulb as well you never know, the tails seem to have a moisture problem on some cars.

So, I was checking out the front again, took light out, put back in, checked wires, etc, and put everything back into the vehicle, and all of a sudden I got the light/turn signal to work? Not sure how, same bulb, didn't change anything, just started working? The only thing I could think it was is a pinch wire that I moved when checking? Oh well, works for now, hopefully it stays working! Thanks!
