Planning on going to maple grove raceway this Friday ad run the grand prix to get a baseline of where my retarded tune is at. Stock tranny with no shift kit, but the trans was rebuilt when the previous owner got the car. That’s all the information he was able to give me. Im gonna run with the 3.1” pulley ad a ‘safe’ timing at around 17-18* with 93octane and shift points lowered. With performance shift off I adjusted the line pressure the same as from the perf shift settings DHP has them at. First gear is at 5800 and 2nd at 5850. im just gonna run 2-3 times. Hopefully the tranny wont be mad at me very much. Gonna run it street trim but with lowered tire pressure up front at ~23psi.

Last time in april b4 the OEM tranny chain snapped I an at cecil county dragway but on mitchellin hydroedges that were 95% new up fron and only mustered 2.3s 60footers trapping only 105mph at 13.4-13.5s. im hoping to aim for a higher trap speed or break 12s, and nothing else lol. Any other advices b4 I run the car this Friday?

105MPH trap speed should put you in the 13.0 range.

Your 60' time is most of the reason. Put some DR's or slicks on that car. You're going to have a hard time finding traction with that kind of HP on street tires. Anything less than a 2.00 60' is killing you.

no DR's yet until i get a rebuilt trans(broken spare in garage) swapped in. im running worn fuzion hri's up front, which are somewhat better than the all-season tread-800 mitchellins i ran a few months ago. i averaged 2.0x with the fuzions when i ran 13.19 at 105mph with 1.9 stock modified rockers back in 12/07. im gonna go out later today on empty stretch of road and see if i get KR or not on this tune with 93oct(currently tuned for 89octane).

I'd say not to race it at all, expecially if its your DD and only car. I think your asking for trouble by racing on it honestly. Build a good tranny and go from there...

pretty bad. alot of cars i'd imagine run quick werent running their proper times either. i only got 2 runs in since its packed-like always. first pass was pathetic 13.7@101 and i was running lean, my IPWs were in the 14-15mS. there were a few mustang gts only in the mid 14s not breaking 13s or 100mph traps. i went up against a c5 corvette on my 2nd/last run and i was running with him but i ran a 14.4@99mph to his 13.4@105

the 2nd run i was running rich since i adjusted the AFC >.<
also the 2nd to 3rd gear shift it looked/sounded like it was hesitating shifting....anyone might have any ideas as to why? my injector shut-off is disabled and my shift point is at 6000RPMs. i was thinking it was bogging from the fuel or is it something else im not aware of?
