A while back (yes I was being lazy) I experienced the common problem where you lose fan speeds 1-4. A few months later my driver information center started getting dim and resetting itself periodcially. If that wasn't enough the headlights started to flash unless I manually had them turned on. Well yesterday I got off my lazy arse and replaced the blower motor resistor. Even though it didn't look to be in the best of health this did not restore fan settings 1-4. Scratching my head I turned to the internet and found a couple other guys had had this problem and they fixed it by replacing the ignition switch. So today I grabbed my neighbor and some tools and after a couple hours we had it replaced and the nagging problem was FIXED!!! Thought I'd share.

P.S. The car is an 02 GTP 40th anniversary edition

Keep in mind that this will fail again... Might want to install a relay to handle the current and save the switch contacts...
