A common problem on the a/c systems when this happens is there is a flap under the dash, and I can't think of the name of it to save my life, sticks and cause the cold air not to go to the drivers side. Sometime a little trash gets on it and this happens. I've heard of people just being able to hit on it a little and getting it to break loose. My GT had this problem and found out it was low on freon. That would be the two things I would check first. But, the little flap, you should be able to look under the dash and see the metal bar that controls it. If that's not it, it could be in the dual zone controls.

Close... blend door. I don't think his is run by electric motors. GM's w-bodies up to 03 used vacuum operated HVAC systems. All 04+ w-bodies use an electronic HVAC system.
