    lm looking to get a different deeper exhaust tone. Im thinking about a glasspack in place of the resonator, or should i remove both muffler and replace with glasspack? glasspacks are cheap and seem to work. Flowmasters dont seem to work well on these cars. I also have a few other questions while im at it.
    1: What is timing?
    2: What does a Cam do and do you need a lot of supporting mods to have one?

    put a glasspack in where you res goes and leave the stock mufflers.
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    ^this...and you need a good deal of work for a cam. start with the safetly modding thread
    04 comp G, front/rear towerbraces, pacesetters, ported sc, LIM, 3.3 pulley, 1.9 mod rockers, Ls1 springs and retainers, custom dyno tune, 180 tstat, shortned dog bones, full poly mounts, zzp shift kit, custom fwi, 28inch cherry bomb, flowmaster 40's. 290whp 380wtq before the button. coldfusion n2o, 60 shot. I haz corvette brakezand gxp cluster! smgpfc028

    yeah ive read that modding thread alot. just wondering more about it and what timing is?

    Ignition timing is how many degrees of crank rotation before top dead center the plug will fire.

    Cam timing is how many degrees of crank rotation before top dead center the intake valve opens.

    the short of it, timing is when the spark goes off @ the spark plugs, you can advance or retard the timing in deg's.

    in the old days you would used a timing light pointed at the crank and turn the distributor. now a days you need a tuner program to get it done.

    the cam is what opens and closes the valves in the heads, intake and exhaust.
