For no reason whatsoever.Even plastic gaskets didn't fail in under a couple of months. Plastics last in our cars for ~100K and many times much longer. Hop off the LIM train and go read what he and I wrote. A GM mechanic did the gaskets, aka they are 99% likely to be metal. It's from experience and gained knowledge that I post. Unless it's your problems..then I toss bs in there.
Understand what it says and you'll put all the pieces together to realize, kid doesn't drive, condensation is what his problem is/was and it's all good.
LOL why yall so sens-uh-tive??
what i was leaning with was because he wasn't sure rather or not the gaskets were even done by this guy..
and my thing was, GO be sure for yourself! and when he was reluctant to verify for himself i was just bumfuzzled. i mean, dont just take someone word for it, go look and be sure.
tis whatever. glad its condensation, now go find some leaves to drive on.
Lmaooo!!!![]()
thank you hippo, big boy!!
NOW this is what i was trying to accomplish. at this point, isn't much you can do on your own without tearing the motor apart. SO i would want some hard evidence from your mechanic man who claimed he replaced it and make sure he replaced them.
even my dad knows to use the metal gaskets and he's just a mechanic on the side. so if that mechanics ever touched a 3800 he should know better.
just tryin to look out for ya hippo. tis all.![]()
you hush sick bastad!
I called it. He didn't change it.
let's hope he DID change them. at least it'll be a fresh gasket either way. tell him you want hard evidence, a receipt or something
yeah post up some pics kinda like i did. best spot of vision seems to be at the top right part of your front valve cover![]()
so....just becuase its plastic, he didnt change it?
That's what I was thinking, just cuz its plastic dont mean its old.
And I check my oil cap often now, always some water droplets on top.
He was supposed to change "All" the gaskets on it when it went in.
ANd he is a good friend/cousin-uncle I'm not gonna accuse.
