Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
Without rockers. No.
Overkill should be okay though.

we didn't have ONLY headers...

okay. Headers and HAI.
You might as well have shoved a banana up one of the tailpipes too without valvetrain mods.

Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
LOL. yeah, well those are really more like maintenance items, guy.
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
Then why did your 3.4 fail if u had headers and tuned pcm?

it didn't fail. this was before the tune.

Did not fail.
On a stock PCM file though it was a BIG fail.
After the tune it pulled like a raped ape.

it sure did. nothing like the first time :D
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
so 3.4 is good with a tuned pcm and headers?
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
good as in, wont blow up lol
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
good as in wont blow up yes.
if you really want to get the most out of a 3.4 pulley though you need valvetrain mods.
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
i just wanna get myself a lil boost. was thinking new spark plugs, that zzp 1.0pcm, ubend delete, CAI or conefilter, and headers. Then i will try smaller pulley size, 3.4 lowest i'd want to go.
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
Headers will include the ubend delete.
CAI would be a good mod.
Forget ZZP 1.0 with 3.4 pulley, MAYBE with 3.6 pulley.
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
will i still see a nice increase in torque with a 3.6 pulley?
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
hell. a tune alone wakes the car up really nicely. stock tune is just soooo mild.

It's not mild.
It's safe.
Keep in mind the stock tune was made for joe blow who drops in 93 when he got paid and 87 when he's on his last $20.
Re: 1999 Grand prix... Looking to run a 3.4 pulley
mild, safe, pick your adjective.
but yah lol. its a wonder the only part of the car that even says "put 93" is the manual. i figured they'd put it on the gas door for dummies.
