In a GTP with the "performance" button on the shifter, when not in performance mode, is it the same as a stock PCM?

Meaning, the PCM mods don't kick in or activate until I push the button putting it into performance mode, leaving it the same as a stock PCM until that point. Is this correct?

The performance button has nothing to do with the ECU tune. It only changes shift points in the transmission between "economy" (lower shift points) and "performance" (slightly higher shift points)

It all depends on which "canned" tune you have. The performance shift button just tells the PCM to swap a few tables related to shifting to a set specifically for performance shift. The canned tune could leave both sets of tables stock, it could modify just the performance shift tables and leave the standard ones stock (or vice versa) or could modify both tables to be different. It just depends on who did the tuning. This is a question you should direct to the vendor.

It is a ZZP 1.0. Nothing real special. I will contact Tim and see what he says. I cant remember what he said about it so I figured id ask yall first.

The reason im asking is, if I remove the ZZP pcm to send it back to him for updates. Will it hurt to put my stock one back in while i wait?

performance shift button is overrated. I think it was 2001 when the button went away and the pcm tables automatically went to that shifting in power enrichment mode

you can run the stock pcm. just dont go beating on it if you have mods till you get the tuned one back.
