    Hey folks,
My battery was dying a slow death so I decided to replace it today. Everything went well, except now when I start it, it cranks for about 1-2 secs before starting. Prior to the new battery, it started up right off the bat. Not really a big deal, but I don't know if it's the start of something bad... Any ideas?

Do the old and new battery have the same CCA?

Haha, this is embarrassing to admit, but I don't know. :/

When my wife gets home I'll check the CCA of the new battery. The old battery was left at Costco.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks!

I would guess that since you bought it at costco, it's not a "high" quality battery, so the CCA is a little lower causing your change in starting.

    That's just a guess though.

im willing to say when you pulled the battery the pcm reset everything, last time i had the battery off my car it took a few cranks to get started,(this last one day) and the trans shifted oddly for a few days till it re learned how i drive.

give it a day , it should be ok.

Thanks to the both of you. I'll check the CCA and also give it a day or two to see if it goes back to normal. I'll let you know what happens....

Also, the new battery might not have been fully charged. It might have only had 12 volts or so. Enough to start the car. But after a few charges it would start faster. Just a thought.

    Glad it worked itself out!
