Is there anyway to turn off the traction control button near my HUD at the center console. I see the TCS and to the left of it theres two sections where i think lights should be on or not. I just dislike it on because I just got my car and whenever i try to do a 0-60 run i think my wheels spin out because i lose all acceleration until i let go of the peddle. It's a 98 GTP if that helps.

on the DIC there should be a TC button that you can push to turn the tc on or off.

Yea I've been aware of that TCS button, but the lights for the Low Trac and TCS Off dont light up or do anything when i press the button. Could this be solved if i got better wheels with better grip and traction? Completely flooring it is impossible as of now.

what happens when you floor it? wheel spin or trac control making your engine studder?

I;m not sure, i would have to try it again. I just know there's usually a loud squeal if im at a stand still and punch it. Then the RPMS Go up but the acceleration doesn't go higher until i let go of the gas pedal and then accelerate.

so it feels like the trans is slipping?

maybe go to a trans shop and see if you have any stored trans codes.

i think there is a fuse you can pull to disable the trac control too, that may rule that out, if the squeal still happens, or pull a hub sensor wire off, that will disable the trac control for sure lol

Could be. I Just know the RPMS stay at the spot before the *power?* cuts out of the acceleration. Its only when i put the pedal to the floor real fast. Gradual acceleration is fine and also flooring it when im at a steady high speed (lets say 35 and up?) its fine. I wanna say its the tc kicking in shutting off the acceleration til i let go of the gas and gain traction again.

my car feels like its studdering, and just quits having any power till i let off the gas and get into again when the trac control kicks in. when i have the trac off, it feels like a whole different animal when jumping on it.

i drive a regal, so my dash shows a low trac light when it kicks in.

My car doesn't feel like its studdering i believe, just seems like no power until i re-accelrate. Either get that light and button fixed or manually disable TC under the hood?

i'd start with disabling the Tc, if your problem goes away, you know why its happening.
