Thread: should I buy this 97 gtp

1997 grand prix GTP

said it is perfect inside and out. just 170,000 miles is what scares me for the price but i can get it for 3000

i would go look at see and check the problem area's
only problem is the trans suck in 97's

I think it's a little high myself, but if you look around that seems to be what kids think they're going to get here too.

Don't buy a 97 they were the bastard child of the Grand Prix's. Get 98+

dpzelnak the trans in the 97 GTP was the same trans that is in every GTP the 4T65-E, the SE and the GT had the 4T60-E, only difference is the 97 has different fittings for the cooler lines and the 97-99.5 have a different valve body and 2003 has some upgraded internals, other than that they are the same trans.

i thought the 97 trans were vac controled?

well i was thinking that was a lil to high for the miles, the wheels and tires are nice though. Oh well guess ill wait for another 2dr to come up

well I can get it for 3k as it sits with new brakes, wheels, and tires. thanks lol it will spank some stangs

i have a 97 gtp with 133k on it and you would never know it. the engine and trans still run smooth as can be. i love it
