I don't care.
How many times do I have to post that I don't read things.
We have education, just no indoor plumbing or internet.
What about me.. you guys know I'm supercharged and answer nearly every post correctly. Once in a while though...I totally miss.
This is that post. Book mark it so that when I fix a huge issue for cheap...you can say.. "Bill is only human".
Which...I really am.
First gear is usually shifting at a lower RPM than redline anyway. I'm not by my tuner to see what WOT shift point is set at in 1st, but I know it's not near redline.
Another point is your computer can be set to shift at 5700rpms, but not actually shift until 6000rpms depending on the tranny.
Another point is if you actually look at the gauge in your car and then at the scanner to see what the pcm is seeing for rpms the dash guage is off.
he has a 4t60 right because hes a 97 gt? isn't that vacuum powered and not electronically controlled like the 4t65? i dont know much about trannys so...
Probably would be handy to hook up a scanner. Clogged cat, clogged fuel filter, clogged air intake filter, mucky plugs, dying wires, enormous vacuum leak, throttle issue...
It's funny...for all the times I hear and read people saying injectors..it's typically something else. Injectors maybe 1% of the time.
Let's see.. maf and tps have a lot to do with trans shifting. Only real difference between 4T60 and 4T65 shifting is the pcs vs vacuum controlled. This effects the shift pressure, not timing or gear. So we can rule that out.
Say his tps or maf are off or screwin up. That could do it.
Fuel mileage and bad shifting, wrong shift points etc can be related to needing a tune up.
When was the last plug and wire change?
Last time you cleaned the TB/MAF?
